Middletown...Jay C. Huntington, 78, resident of Middletown, passed away October 16, 2006 at Americare Healthcare in New Castle after an extended illness.He was born in Momence, IL, November 27, 1927, the son of Abner R. and Eva Clark Lilly Huntington.H was a graduate of Zenas High School and retired in 1983 from Delco Remy where he had been a Lab Technician for over 33 years.He moved to Middletown in 1961 and attended the Noble Street United Methodist Church where he had been active in the Methodist Men. He loved fishing, hiking, motorcycling, gardening, bowling, beekeeping, and traveling.He was a veteran of the US Army.Survivors are one son: Timothy (JoAnne) Huntington of Elwood, one daughter: Cheryl Florea of Middletown, four grandchildren: Melissa Howsare (Todd) of Clearwater, FL, Margaret Harris- Kennedy of Knightstown, Emily and John Florea of Middletown, 2 great grandchildren: Keylyn Tompkins and Jack Kennedy of Knightstown, 3 brothers: Howard Huntington (Mildred) of California, Franklin P. Huntington (Dorothy) of Muncie and Edgar E. Huntington (Evelyn) of Muncie, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Robert M. Huntington and 1 sister: Sara Martin and 1 1/2 sister: Alice Joy Robinson.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call one hour before the services at the funeral home.Memorials to American Heart association.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
