Janet Elaine Jones

Janet Elaine (Bronnenberg) Jones, 81 of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023. She was born on September 29, 1941 in Henry County, IN a daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Hodson) Bronnenberg.
Janet attended Ball State University where she earned a B. A. & M. A. in education. She taught high school English, Spanish and Latin at Daleville High School, Liberty Christian School and Anderson Christian School. Upon retiring from teaching, Janet worked side by side with Jon on the farm until he retired from farming.
Janet’s passions included her many dogs over the years, (most recently, Isaac), gardening, tending to her flowers, camping hiking, reading, doing puzzles and attending church and Bible studies. Whenever possible, she and Jon spent as much of the last 20 years as they could at their property in the Ozark Mountains.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Kirts.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Jon Jones; 3 children; Jon Jr. (Cheri) Jones, Lisa Davenport and Jeffrey (Danita) Jones; 9 grandchildren, Austin (Aubrie) Jones, Megan (Caleb) Schultz, Carson Jones, Kenzie, Kyle and Karter Davenport and Seth, Justin and Alyssa Jones; 3 step-grandchildren, Jared (Sara) Inman, Josh (Brooke) Inman, Taylor (Kyle) Mooneyhan; 1 great grandchild, Fraser Jones; 5 step-great grandchildren, Graham, Caroline, Elaine and Dalton Inman, and Kolton Mooneyhan; a brother, Paul (Mel) Bronnenberg.
Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl.17, Chicago, IL 60601. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
