James Eugene Stevenson

James Eugene Stevenson, 80, of Daleville passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Jim was born on March 6, 1942 in Muncie, IN a son of the late Cleatis and Vivian (Wood) Stevenson.
He was a 1960 graduate of Daleville High School. Jim was an inductee of the Daleville Athletic Hall of Fame in Baseball and was soon to be inducted for track. While in high school, he won the county championship in the 400 meter. Jim worked at Delco Battery and Guide Lamp of General Motors where he retired. He was an avid New York Yankee fan, loved IU basketball and the Indiana Pacers. Jim adored his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his children, Brett (Stephanie) Stevenson, Jamie (David) Jones and Stacie (Eric) Buxton; five grandchildren, Brittney (Cody) Garrett, Shannon Stevenson (Dillon Carpenter), Emily Buxton, Lily Jones, and Alex Buxton; four great grand grandsons; a brother, Larry Stevenson and his beloved dog Lucy.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Kay and two brothers, Dick and Jack Stevenson.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
