Middletown....James Howard Ramsey, 90, a resident of Middletown since 1938, died Saturday morning at Millers Merry Manor in Middletown after a lengthy illness.He was born November 24, 1911 in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of John William and Sallie Baker Ramsey. He retired in 1974 from Chevrolet in Muncie after 30 years in the Hammer Shop. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW 2 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown.Survivors are his wife of 64 years: Florence (Abbott) of Middletown, 1 son: James (Paula) Ramsey of Middletown, 2 grandchildren: Scott (Amy) Ramsey of Hendersville, Tennessee and Lynn (Scott) Uptgraft of Fishers, Indiana, 5 great grandchildren: Payton, Carley, and Jessica Ramsey of Hendersonville and Elle and Erik Uptgraft of Fishers, 1 sister: Mosse Buster of Monticello, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Beulah Meadows in 1967, Retta Gossage in 1994, and 1 brother, Taft Ramsey in 1954.Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. David Waters officiating.
