Muncie...James Arthur Nixon, 80, resident of Muncie, passed away Saturday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.He was born in Progress, IN, November 18, 1927, the son of Orville Jay and Edith Anderson Nixon.He had worked for the Teamsters Union for many years and was a lifelong truck driver.He was a veteran of WW 2 serving in the US Army.Besides the Teamsters, he was a member of the American Legion of Chesterfield and the VFW of Muncie.Survivors include his wife of 33 1/2 years: Vicky L. (Emswiller) Nixon of Muncie, 3 sons: James Allen Nixon (Pamela), Myron Nixon (Jackie), and Joseph Nixon (Sandra) all of Muncie, 4 daughters: Sharon Kay Oliver, Sandra Bales (Doug) and Edith Norris (Rick) all of Muncie and Janet Moles (Robbie) of PallMall, TN, 18 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Edward L. Nixon (Dorthy) and Donald Nixon (Thelma) both of Muncie.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 children: James Arthur Nixon, Jr., and Connie Green, 2 brothers: Walter and Glenn Nixon and 2 sisters: Imogene Felton and Virginia Slocum.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville with Rev. Marty Ballard and Dr. Philip C. Rogers officiating.Burial will follow at Springport Cemetery.Friends may call at the Daleville Chapel on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Delaware County humane society.Online Guestbook at:
