James Robert Moore "Jim", 72, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Naples, Florida. Jim was born on October 8, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph and Evalyn (Isanogel) Moore, and grew up on a small family farm in Daleville, IN.
Jim was a graduate of Daleville High School where he was very active in many sports. He went on to Ball State University and obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Upon graduation Jim enlisted in the United States Navy, where he became a Navy Pilot and served honorably for five years. Jim went back to Central Indiana and started working in the accounting industry where he eventually opened his own CPA firm serving the Central Indiana area, including a large farm-based clientele. Upon retirement, Jim entrusted the firm to longtime friend and colleague, Todd Parker; and then shortly after Jim and his wife, Cheryl, settled in Naples, Florida.
Jim loved life... Jim never knew a stranger, and never made an enemy. Jim's infectious personality and charisma drew in countless life-long friends throughout the years. Jim's love of sports carried through his life, especially with his brother, Jerry, and their love of the L.A. Dodgers.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (Tabb) Moore of Naples, Florida. His brother, Jerry Moore and wife Mary of Daleville, IN. His daughter, Julie (Moore) Augustinovicz and husband Jeff of McCordsville, IN. His daughter, Kristina (McFeely) Bir and husband Clarence of Logansport, IN. His son, Scott McFeely and wife Shannon of Daleville, IN. Jim was the proud "Poppy" of 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Jim was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph and Evalyn (Isanogel) Moore, and Wilmer and Betty Tabb; and his son, Jeffrey Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Ballard and Son's Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, IN. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 11:00 am at Ballard and Son's Funeral Home followed by a private family burial service.
