James J. Marvell

Anderson...James J. Marvell, of Anderson, passed away December 17, 2017 at St. Vincent's Regional Hospital in Anderson.He was born in Anderson, September 2, 1943, the son of Eldon and Velma Marvell.He was a graduate of Daleville High School and worked at General Motors for over 36 years.He was a member of the American Legion of Chesterfield.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; Hubert.He is survived by his sons: James O. Marvell and Timothy (Anita) Marvell, daughters: Kimberly Combs (Ted Rinehart) and Beth (Tim) Chapman, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings: Aloma S. Marvell-Smith (Floyd ""Skip), Mike (Nancy) Marvell, Rob (Sheila) Marvell, Paul Marvell, Jennifer (Kendel) Rinker and Chester Turner and the love of his life, Kay-tee, several nieces and nephews.Also surviving is his great friend: Fritz Chambers who was of great support and brought him doughnuts through his illness.Services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Carl Cloud officiating.
