Middletown...James Michael Fites, 64, resident of Middletown, passed away Sunday morning at his home after an extended illness.He was born in Wabash, IN, April 23, 1945, the son of James George Niles Fites and Esther Irene Barr Fites.He had retired from Wolohan Lumber of Muncie and had been a sales representative for National Nail Corporation for over 25 years retiring in 2008He was a graduate of Southwood High School in 1963 and was an avid woodworker and lived to play golf.He had been preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wife of 9 years: Lou ""Thelma Louise"" (Singleton) Fites of Middletown, children: Jeff (Dee) Fites, Clayton (Carrie) Fites and Kassandra (Sean) Fites all of Middletown, Step children: Tom (Denise) McKee of Pendleton and Fawn (Jason) Cronk of Middltown, grandchildren: Ashley (Pat) Hoffman of Anderson, Michelle, Alivia, Dean, Hayden and Madison of Middletown, step grandchildren Collin, Dillon, Madison, Reece and Jacob, 1 great great grandchild: Ethan, 1 brother: Kent (Martha) Fites of Huntington, 2 sisters: Marsha (Don) Rapp of Thorntown and Katy (Terry) Peas of Treaty, IN, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials to the American Cancer Society.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
