Anderson...James Ira Day, 69, resident of Anderson, passed away February 10, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness.He was born December 9, 1937 in Delphi, IN the son of Donald and Alberta Leslie Day.He retired from Guide Corporation in 1985 after 30 years as a tool and dye maker.He was an avid conservationist.He also worked for Contact Fabricators of Indiana, was a member of the UAW 663 and the Daleville Christian Church.Survivors include his wife whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in June: Sandra (Fisher) of Anderson, 3 children: James W. Day (Cheryl) of Bethel, Ohio, Tim Day of Muncie, and Penny Saylor (Jeff) of Anderson, 2 grandchildren: Jamie Saylor of Anderson and Stephanie Saylor of Muncie, 1 great grandchild: Noah Lee Higgs of Muncie, several nieces and nephews and cousins, sister-in-law: Lois Day of Eustis, FL and Brother and sister-in-law: Connie and Jim Smith of Anderson, and his dog: Meme.Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 3:00 PM at Saunders Cemetery east of Daleville with Rev. Gary McManus officiating.Friends may meet at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St., Daleville, one hour prior to the service for a processional to the cemetery on Saturday.Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Tail Conservency at 201 East Jackson, Munice, IN 47303, Indiana Public Radio or the Daleville Christian church.Online Guestbook at:
