Middletown...James Edward Ashton, 73, resident of Middletown, passed away Tuesday at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson.He was born in Indianapolis, May 9, 1932 the son of David and Mary F. Baker Ashton.He grew up in New Castle before moving to Middletown. He was a 1950 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School.He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1988 after 36 years of service and was a member of the UAW 662.He was a professional percussionist and published 2 books including the Big Little Book Catalogue. He owned one of the most prolific movie memorabilia collections in the United States.He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Joyce (East) of Middletown, 1 son: Nick (Wendy) Ashton of Middletown, 1 grandson: Casey Ashton of Bloomington, sister in law: Barbara (mike) McMichael of Middletown, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
