Middletown...Jack R. Dellinger, 63, left this earth to be with his parents, family and the Lord, at Parkview Nursing Home in Muncie on November 2, 2008, after an extended illness.He was born August 13, 1945 in Anderson, the son of Rev. Lloyd and Margaret Forney Dellinger.He was a 1963 graduate of Middletown High School and a US Army veteran of Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star.He was a graduate of John Herron School of Art and a member of the VFW Post 226 of Anderson and the Middletown American Legion.He served as a contributor to ""The Saturday Evening Post"" and was art director for ""Design"" magazine. His love of nature took him to the Blue Ridge Mountains where he lived happily for many years.He worked for Liebhardt Mills for 10 years as a graphic artist and was well known for his artistic signs and humorous shirts. He had a green thumb all of his life and loved animals and playing golf.Survivors include his brother: Larry ""Pooch"" (Diana) Dellinger of Middletown and Max (Patsy) Dellinger of Leesburg, special friend: Shauna Everitt of Anderson, Nieces and nephews: Mike and Jay of Middletown, Brett of Indianapolis, Angie of Anderson, Jeremy of Muncie, Mandy of Warsaw, Jeri, Jayne, Anita, and Tim of Lafayette, great nieces and nephews: Samantha and Jordan, Cal and Nolan, Kyle and Billy, Kayla, Gabriel and Kraiden.He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard and Rev. Claude Creel officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.Online Guestbook at:
