Ida Mildred Jackson

December 8, 1930 — July 30, 2021

Daleville....Ida Mildred (Gentry) Jackson, 90 passed away Friday July 30, 2021 at her residence.  She was born in Daleville, the seventh of ten children to Fred and Gweneth Bradburn Gentry.

She spent her entire life in Daleville, graduating from Daleville High School in 1948.

After a four year high school courtship, she married 1947 graduate Paul Lee Jackson and they remained married for 72 years until Paul's passing in august of 2020.

After marriage she helped with the farming and attended beauty school, becoming a beautician with a one person shop in her home.  She worked at Shirey's grocery during high school and again a few years after her marriage.  Over the years she worked for the 1964 U.S. Agriculture Department, Sonitrol of Daleville and was an aide at Maple Village Nursing home in Middletown (Miller's Merry Manor). and was owner of Pizza "N Stuff in Middletown.

She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader of Wapehani Girl Scout Council Troop 5, Secretary of the Delaware County Fair Board, chariman of the Salem Township 4-H Fair and organizer of the the ABWA of Daleville.

For fun she was on a bowling league, several card clubs with her friends and the Red Hat Ladies.

She is survived by daughters Cynthia Callegaro of Muncie, Marna Krause (Bob) of Pahrump, NV, and a son Duane Jackson (Barb) of Daleville, grandson Kyle Jackson (Layne) and great granddaughter Reagan all of Daleville, brother Ronald Gentry (Lainie) of Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Paul L. Jackson, sisters Ruby Gentry Williams Davis, Marilee Gentry Veppert, baby sister Margaret Gentry, brothers Robert Gentry, Fred Gentry, Jr., Marvin Dale Gentry, Billy Gentry, and baby brother Donald Gentry, nieces Kathy Jackson Stewart and Mary Mitchell Pope, nephews David Williams, Mike Gentry and Marvin Keith Veppert,

A Special thank you to Brighton Hospice specifically RN Jennifer, CNS Kaycee, Social Worker Jeff, Chaplain Abby and Consultant Susan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating.

Burial will follow in Saunders Cemetery, Daleville.

Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
