Anderson....Hugh Phillip Bell, 87, former Sulphur Springs resident, passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson on November 4, 2017.He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, November 14, 1929, the son of Elmo and Ruth Annita Stewart Bell.He was a 1948 graduate of Pendleton High School. He worked as a mechanic at Hardy's Machine Shop. He worked in the family Trucking company for many years and as an agent for Prudential Insurance in the 60's and 70's. He was a supervisor with Freightliner Trucks and worked for TWA in Saudi Arabia. He retired from the City of Ft. Myers as a mechanic in charge of the Edison Home and all their antique cars. He worked with Williams Hardware in Florida for several years.He attended the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of the Pendleton Masonic Lodge.He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Valasta (Simmons), children: Annita Ruth Murfin (High), Lori Dickey (Bob), Shella Chestnutt (Bud) and Sam Bell (Lisa), a brother: Gary M. Bell (Holly), grandchildren: chad Murfin (Vonnie), Ed Bell (Jennifer), Ruth Fuchs (Dave), Darrell Murfin (Tymm), Andrew Jacman, (Lauren), Shyra Chestnutt, Devon Bell (Kelly), Trevor Bell, Jolene Scarberry (Justin), Nathan Bell (Andi), Tom Dickey (Peggy), Tony Dickey (Becki) and Tim Dickey (Melanie, 23 great grandchildren nieces, nephews.A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM with masonic memorials services at Ballard and Sons funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com SERVICES Visitation Friday, November 10, 201710:00 AM - 12:00 PM Ballard and Sons, Middletown 118 South 5th Middletown, Indiana
