Middletown...Howard Jr. Reedy, 76, lifetime resident of the Middletown area, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson.He was born October 21, 1929 in Middletown, the son of Howard C. and Fannie Kirby Reedy.He was a 1948 graduate of Middletown High School and a US Marine veteran serving in Japan from 1952-54.He had retired from Valley View Golf Course where he had been a groundskeeper for many years.He was a member of the American Legion.Survivors include: his wife of 57 years: Mary Louise (McDonald) Reedy of Middletown, 2 sons: John Wayne (Felicity) Reedy of Tyler TX and Donald Charles (Robin) Reedy of St. Marys, GA, 1 daughter: Sheila Kay (Wayne) Rush of Carmel, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Elizabeth Ann Griffith of Anderson.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, and 7 siblings.Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown for family members with no public visitation.
