Muncie...Hollis Russell Linder, 70, resident of Muncie, died March 15, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.He was born in Jamestown, TN, October 4, 1934, the son of William Porter and Flossie Stephens Linder.He retired in 1986 from Franks foundry in Muncie after 32 years as a mold maker.He lived for over 45 years in the Muncie area.He was an avid Horse lover and actually travelled from Brown County, IN to Kentucky by wagon train at one time.He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers: Clyde, Kernal, Jerry, and Harold Linder and a great grandson: Christopher Smith as well as one son: William Hollis Linder.Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Robbie Dean (Hancock) of Muncie, 4 daughters: Trena (Jeff) Taylor of Yorktown, Debra (Edgar) Smith of Muncie, Betty (David) Skinner of Anderson, Teresa (Marty) Montgomery of Muncie and 1 son: Robert Linder of Daleville, brothers and sisters: Faye (Larry) Matthews of Jamestown, TN, Juanita Garrett of Muncie, Janice (Bill) Carter of Muncie, Mary (Ralph) Howard of Muncie, Nancy (Mickey) Stewart, Betty Linder, Sue Linder, and J. Q. Linder all of Jamestown, TN, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Pastor Ron Elam officiating.Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery in Yorktown.Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Daleville/Salem Township Fire Department.Online Guestbook is available at:
