Heather Nicole Hertzberg

Heather Nicole (Neal) Hertzberg, 38, resident of LaPorte, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2024. She was born in NewCastle, Indiana on May 21, 1986, the daughter of Ray (Dawn) Neal and Vickie Neal (Steve Shawver). She was a 2004 graduate of Shenandoah High School. She married the love of her life Mark Hertzberg on December 8, 2017. They were happily married for 7 years. She attended University of Southern Indiana and completed her schooling at Ivy Tech Community College. She worked in both the dental and ophthalmology.

As a teenager she was a member and was baptized at Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethren. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends, spending time camping at the campground with her close friends, spending all the time she could with her grandsons Lincoln and Croix, and her fur baby, Ziggy. She loved coming home and helping every August at the Sulphur Springs Mud Bog and spoiling her nieces and nephews every chance that she could. She was an avid Colts and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.

She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Mary Royce, Ray and Joan Neal Sr., and Bill and Janet Chapman; grandson, Jaxon Hertzberg.

In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by her siblings, Christopher (Abbie) Fellers, Alicia (Daniel) Hanson, and Evan Neal; stepsons, Austin (Keya) Hertzberg and Dylan Hertzberg; two grandsons, Lincoln and Croix Hertzberg; two nephews, Brodie and Logan Fellers; two nieces, Paisley and Avery Hanson as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Valarie Kline officiating. Burial to follow in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, IN.  Visitation will be on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
