New Castle...Harry E. Snider, 88, resident of The Waters of New Castle, passed away Sunday morning at the facility after an extended illness.He was born in Hartford City, IN, June 8, 1924, the son of Earl and Esther Pence Snider.He was a graduate of Hartford City High School and served in the US Marine Corps from March 6, 1942 to February 12, 1946. He was a Corporal in the 1st Division in WW 2 serving in the South Pacific and the Battle of Peleliu.He had been a watchmaker learning his trade in Chicago and had stores in Indianapolis, Fort Harrison, and Knightstown.He enjoyed dancing, body building, music, automobiles, politics and spending time with family.He was a devoted Christian and a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League;Hiram I Bearss Detachment 89.Survivors are nieces and nephews: David (Penny) Snider, Don Street, Don (Meleita Street, Jr, Misty White, Brandi Street, Kamrein Street, Nick Street, Trenton Street and Lillian Snider.Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Zionsville.Online Guestbook at:
