Daleville...Harold Vernon ""Bernie"" Walston, 64, resident of Daleville, died August 24, 2004 at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson unexpectedly.He was born in Patriot, Indiana, February 13, 1940, the son of John Madison and Opal G. Koons Walston.He was a 1958 graduate of Rising Sun High School and retired in 1992 from Delco Remy in Anderson.He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Jay, Roy, and Victor.Survivors include his wife: Roberta Jean (Cook) of Daleville, 5 children: David Vernon Walston (Nancy) of Anderson, Kim Dean (Mike) of Muncie, Mark Allen Walston (Mary Joyce) of Monticello, KY, Robert Dale Walston (Christy) of Daleville, and John Douglas Walston (Hollie) of Muncie, grandchildren: Brook Michelle Oren of Fishers, Jessica Lynn Morris of Lima, Ohio, Harold Thomas Walston of Monticello, KY, Megan Denise Walston of Kentucky, Stacy Renee Walston of Daleville, Brittney Leighann Walston of Muncie, Kristen Lea Walston of Versailles, John Madison Walston of Daleville, Joshua DAvid Walston of Versailles, Braden Michael Walston of Muncie, and Stephen Richard Dean of Parker City, 3 brothers: Halbert of Vevay, Roger of Ohio, and Wayne of Warsaw, 2 sisters: Jeannie Campbell (Cecil) of Rising Sun and Freda Gray of Madison, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street in Daleville with Rev. Gerald Burnett officiating.Burial will follow in Saunders Cemetery in Daleville.Friends may call at the Daleville Funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from noon until the time of the service.Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Twp.
