Daleville...Gordon Clifford French, 78 resident of Daleville, passed away April 27, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Ayres, Massachusetts, February 26, 1943, the son of Chester and Gertrude Bush French.
He was a US Army Veteran and worked at Security for Salle Mae in Indianapolis.
He enjoyed old westerns including "How the West was Won", and old country music like Hank Williams.
He was a family man and had lost his father and mother at a young age. He lived several years at boarding school for boys. He was drafted into the US Army and served 23 years.
He served 5 tours of duty over-seas and spent three years in Germany. He retired as Sargent First Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and Chester, and Siblings, Chester, Nancy and Stanley.
He is survived by his wife Cora (Fox) of Daleville, his children: Butch, Glenn, Joe, Cindy, Erica (Jordan), Mike, Jess, Tami, Sean (Erika), Matt, Nick, Lisa (Nick) and Andrea and Haley, grandchildren: Wiley, Cy, Jack, Emily, Aaron, Carter, Charlotte, Camryn, Kaleb, Hayden, Kinley, and Tristan., 2 siblings, Dan and Betty.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 6, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
Burial will be in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion at 2:00 PM with full military honors.
Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the services..
