Middletown...Gerald C. ""Butch"" Lewis, 81, a lifetime resident of Middletown, died December 20, 2003 at Manor Care Rehabilitation and Health Center in Anderson after a brief illness.He was born in Indianapolis, December 12, 1922, the son of Harlan and Ella Shelton Lewis.He was a lifetime member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church and was a WW 2 Army veteran serving in New Guinea. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 31 years of service and was a member of the UAW local 662.Survivors include 2 daughters: Rebecca Lewis and Jill McAtee, both of Cincinnati, 2 step children: Mark Camplin of Westfield and Marsha Ours of Elwood, 1 brother: Jack W. Lewis of Mechanicsburg and 2 sisters: Marjorie Harsh of Bluffton and Doris Offutt of Indianapolis, 4 grandsons and three granddaughters: Sean Kammerer, Tyler Manifold, Jeremy McAtee, Devin Ours, Rose Ours, Laura Camplin and Lindsey Camplin, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife: Martha (Markle) Camplin.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Preutz officiating.Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.Friends may call at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, Indiana on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
