Middletown...George Marcus Raines, 83, resident of Middletown, passed away at the Waters in New Castle after an extended illness.He was born in Wayne County, KY, on May 27, 1925.He resided in Middletown for 23 years and was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene.He was a WW 2 veteran of the US Marine Corps.he was preceded in death by his wife Jean in January.He is survived by his children: Marcus Raines of Middletown and Amy (Michael) Vermeulen of Florida and two grandchildren: Lindsey Raines of Tamps, FL and Timothy Vermeulen of Valrico, Fl, 1 sister: Janet Guffey of Wayne County, KY and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Pastor David Whitteberry.Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
