Gary Michael Murdock

Chesterfield...Gary Michael Murdock, 47, resident of Chesterfield, died April 17, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Marion, after an extended illness.He was born April 25, 1956 in Anderson, the son of Norma (Norman) Gillespie of Anderson and Walter (Levetta) Murdock of Pendleton. He had worked as a mechanic for Bob Ellis Motors for six years.He attended Pendleton Heights High School and was a Veteran of the US Navy, a member of the AMVETS Post 332 and the American Legion Post 408. He was a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Anderson.He was an avid bowler and bingo player.Besides his parents and step parents, he is survived by daughters: Rhiannon, Adriann, and Stephenie Murdock of Baltimore Maryland, sisters: Rhonda Ellis of Daleville and Lori Broadwater of Anderson, Step sister and brother: Pam (Rick) Simpson of Alexandria, and Tod (Beth) Baker of Anderson, Special Aunt: Julia Whitinger of Chesterfield, niece: Johnna Broadwater of Anderson and nephew: Loren Broadwater of Anderson, great nieces: Milah Broadwater-Kerr of Anderson, several aunts, uncles, and cousins and a special friend and brother in law: Robert (BJ) Ellis of Daleville.He was preceded in death by a step brother: Douglas Gillespie and grandparents: Elliott and Maggie Murdock.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating.Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.Friends may call at the Daleville funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Lou Gerhigs Disease Research or the Meadowbrook Baptist Church.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com .
