Gary Dale Green

Gary Dale Green, 66, resident of Middletown, passed away November 19, 2021 at St Vincent's Ascension Regional Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness. He was born December 10, 1954 in Rushville, Indiana the son of George Dale and Harriett J. Hopkins Green.
He grew up and lived in Middletown since 1960.
He attended school in classes for children with special needs. He began in New Castle but soon, due a small group of dedicated parents and friends in Middletown, began classes at the United Methodist Church and soon moved to the Middletown High School and eventually to the Shenandoah School site.
Gary loved attending school and enjoyed the lessons and activities. He loved his teachers and his friends and classmates. They were such a joy to him.
Gary had many favorite activities whether it was outside or at home....wherever the action was. He loved coloring, painting, activity books and stories.
His greatest joy was listening to music. Gary had a huge collection of LPs. He loved his record player. He would play as long and loud as Mom and Dad would allow and of course it was always as long as Gary would want.
He loved Rock and roll, country, songs from movies, and even had a polka or two. His favorites were Elvis and Waylon Jenning.
He loved his family and the care he received from his mom and dad and his sister Kim. Their love and devotion came straight from their hearts and he knew that.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Michael Green and many family members and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers; Ron and Lisa Green, Kevin and Mary Jane Green, and sister Kim Casstevens, his nieces and nephews; Susan, Jeremy and Jacob Dunn, Jessica and Tim Slabaugh, Elizabeth Green, Daniel Green and David Green, Jarren and Kara Casstevens, McKinley, and Brynleigh , Collin Casstevens ,Alisha Prior.
A private service will be held by the family with burial at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Gary's family wishes to thank the Ballard family for the wonderful care they have given to Gary.
