Markleville....Frederick Clay Hodson, 90, longtime resident of the Markleville area, passed away Sunday evening at Miller's Merry Manor in Middletown.He was born in Markleville, September 24, 1922, the son of Fred and Doris M. Hunter Hodson.He had lived his entire life in the Markleville/Middletown area.He was a farmer most of his life and worked at the Farm Bureau Co-Op in Pendleton. He had also worked for Bob Taylor Construction in Daleville.He was a US Army veteran of WW 2 serving in the 52nd Engineers in Demolition.He was a member of the IOOF of Anderson and attended Pleasant Valley Christian Church.He is survived by his daughter: Bernita Harless of Markleville, grandsons: Jeff (Heather) Harless of Markleville, James (Kelly) Harless of Markleville, 4 great granddaughters: Harley, Paige, Emily, and Ashley Harless of Markleville, 1 great great grandson: Corbin Harless of Markleville, 1 sister: Betty McGinnis, 1 brother: Ralph (Mary) Hodson of Markleville.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Emogene (Keesling) and a brother: George Hodson.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Fuenral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 4-8 PM.The family would like to thank the staff at Glen Oakes and Millers Merry Manor for their wonderful care.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Alzheimers Foundation.Online Guestbook at:
