Middletown...Fred W. Orr, Jr, 63, longtime resident of the Daleville/Middletown area, passed away Monday morning at his residence after an extended illness.He was born in Anderson, May 6, 1945, the son of Fred and Ora C. Gibson Orr.He was a 1963 graduate of Daleville High School and retired from Guide Lamp of Anderson in 1999 after 36 years as a die setter.He was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, and participated in the Golden Oldies basketball sectional.He was a member of the UAW 663 and played in the basketball league for Guide Lamp.He loved Flea marketing,especially in Strawtown and gardening.Survivors include his wife: Connie (Garr) of Middletown, 3 children: William Orr of Middletown, Shelia Orr of Middletown and Tami Yarberry (Tim) of Middletown, 2 brothers: John Orr of Middletown and Jim (Pam) Orr of Elkhart, 4 grandchildren: Sami Orr of Muncie, Kaci (Seth) Morrow, Marli Prichard and Conli Prichard of Middletown, 1 great grandson: Levi Morrow of Middletown, 2 Aunts: Pauline (Bob) Leathers of Chesterfield and Betty (Don) Eldridge of Anderson, several nieces and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sisters, and 1 granddaughter.Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at The Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C. Rogers officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM.Memorials may be made to the Middletown Church of the Nazarene or the American Cancer Society.Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home.Online Guestbook at www.ballardandsons.com
