Evelyn Margaret Carter

Evelyn Margaret Carter, 94, of Yorktown, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025. She was born June 8, 1930, in Daleville, IN the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Hoel.

Evelyn was a 1948 graduate of Daleville High School. After high school, she started work as a telephone operator for the town of Daleville. She also spent some time working for Marsh Supermarkets. She then found her passion working at Stewarts Furniture store in Daleville for 30 years. Evelyn enjoyed traveling to her favorite destinations in Mexico and Hawaii. She also loved ballroom dancing as well as enjoying the summertime sunshine in Indiana.

Evelyn is survived by her nephew, Mitch Mills; sister-in-law, Barbara Carter; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carter; sister-in-law, Lois Mills and longtime friend, Max Jordan.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Daleville, IN.
