Middletown...Eugene Baker, 82, resident of Middletown, died Monday morning at the home of his grandson in Middletown.He was born in Anderson, July 18, 1922, the son of Elmer and Lydia Baker.He was a WW 2 veteran of the US Army and retired from Commercial Motor Freight after 18 years of service.He loved eating at the Middletown Diner and the Iron Kettle Restaurants and visiting with his friends.Survivors include 1 son: Joseph (Judy) Baker of Pigeon Forge, TN, 1 daughter: Tina (Michael) Koontz of Noblesville, 3 grandchildren: Christopher Baker of Middletown, Kyle Bake of Chesterfield and Katherine Baker of Anderson, 2 great grandchildren: Kelsey and Hunter Baker of Chesterfield, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Marie (Staley) in 1995.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Maynard Powell officiating.
