Houston, Texas...Ethel M. McCartt, 85, resident of Spring, Texas, died in Houston while living with her daughter. She had lived in Chesterfield, Indiana before moving to Texas in 2001.She was born in Stearns, Kentucky, June 28, 1917, the daughter of William and Truie Hays Stephens. She had been a homemaker most of her life and attended the Cy-Fair Christian Church in Houston.Survivors include her daughter: June (Eugene) Black of Spring TX, 5 grandchildren: Batina Cooke of Naples, FL, Dr. Brad Black of Houston, Byron Black of Bonita Spring, FL, Darren Fellers of Nogales, AZ, Julie York of New Castle, Indiana, 8 great grandchildren: Jostin Cooke, Alex Black, Zachary Black, Blake York, Amy Fellers, Melanie Joe Fellers, Joshua Black and Rebekah Black, 3 sisters: Velva Pierce of New Castle, IN, Wilma of Florida, and Arlene Goldey of Hagerstown, Indiana.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. McCartt, and brothers: Harrold, Orville ""Riley"", Esthel, and Landon and a daughter: Sue Ann DaugheryFuneral services will be held on Monday morning at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Dr. Brad Black officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, east of Middletown.Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 PM.Online guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
