Ethel Mae (Hunter) Kendall ,88, passed away quietly in her home on November 30, 2019 following an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1931 in Middletown to Clinton and Esta (Bowers) Hunter. She was a 1949 graduate of Middletown High School, worked for Delco Remy Division, and later was a cook in the Middletown School System. After retiring from the school, she babysat in her home for many children, was a talented seamstress, an incredible cook, and a loving Gran to her beloved grandchildren.
She married Paul Kendall on February 19, 1955 and resided in the Middletown area her entire life. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed camping at Barbee Lake, spending time with her family, crocheting, and watching the Indiana Pacers. She is survived by her husband Paul, daughters Teena Myers (Steve), Denise Reddington (Thom), Penny Lockhart (Brian); grandchildren Lindsey Lowder (Sam), Mandy Manship (Mark), Laura Myers-Broadnax (Randy), Ashlee Drysdale ( Aaron), Meghan Reddington, Stephanie Goodson (Aaron), Seth Reddington (Katie), Kayla Woodward (Peter), and Shelby Lockhart, Bonus granddaughter Fernanda Gorostieta Lavalle; sister Ivy Hochstedler, and sisters-in-law Diane Hunter and Mary Helen Elsworth ( Keith), 14 great grandchildren , several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Wilbur Hunter, William Hunter, and Dallas Hunter, 2 sisters Mary Banks and Natha Lee Burlison.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the services.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent's Hospice and the Middletown Food Pantry.
