Middletown...Ernest ""Dunnie"" Othel Hendricks, 83, resident of the Middletown area, died early Monday morning at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson. He was born in Middletown, February 23, 1920, the son of John and Golda Montreau Bickel Hendricks.He attended Middletown schools and was a veteran of WW 2 serving in the US Army.He retired from Indiana Bell Telephone in 1981 where he worked for over 33 years.He was a member of the VFW of Anderson and a charter member of the VFW of Chesterfield. He also belonged to the Communications Workers of America union and the Middletown Lodge F & AM. Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Settie Jean (Stein) Hendricks of Middletown, 1 son: David E. (Leanna) Hendricks of Anderson, 1 daughter: Melanie J. Hendricks of Anderson, granddaughters: Anna (Fiance; Earskine Davis) Hendricks of Anderson, Ivy ""Robin"" (Fiance; John Gray) Miller of Anderson, and Briana and Adriene Hendricks of Anderson, great grandchildren: David Davis, Kristen Mosiman, Natasha Davis of Anderson, and Tasha and Jacob Miller of Frankfort, 1 sister: Della Eikenberry of Anderson.He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Jack and Dick Hendricks.Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev.
