Eric L. Stanley, 81, of Middletown passed away December 5, 2023 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Anderson where he lived the last years of his life. He was born on June 18, 1942 in Henry County as the first of three children to the late Jesse and Florence Mae (Toloday) Stanley.
He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1960. He then attended Ball State University majoring in chemistry. He served his country in the United States Army, and in the reserves. He worked for H. K. Porter Inc. as a maintenance supervisor and then in the same position for American Olean Tile.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Science fiction was a love of his and he was among the first generation of "Trekkies." He loved to stay busy, tinkering with contraptions and making things. He liked gardening and beekeeping. He made homemade wine, and was especially good at making dandelion wine. And he also enjoyed playing Euchre and other card games.
Eric is survived by his daughter, Anna Jackson; grandsons, Calvary Jackson and Benjamin Jackson of Dayton, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Lee Garver Stanley; brother, Stephen Stanley and sister Nancy (Stanley) Sansone.
