Elva Sue (Hodson) White of Middletown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson, Indiana, following a brief illness.She was born on May 17, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana.She graduated from Anderson High School in 1954 and was a proud lifelong Indian.Proceeded in death by her parents Russell A. and Lois Isabelle (Southard) Hodson and her younger brother Lewis Hodson.She is survived by her husband Donald R. White, of Middletown, IN, whom she married on November 26, 1966 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church by the Rev. John Zuber; also survived by sister Anabeth Radeck (husband, Herman Radeck) of Anderson, IN; son Dan White (wife, Carol) of Elkton, MD; son Greg Julian (wife, Luanne) of Middletown, IN; son Rodney White of Middletown, IN; son Gary Julian (wife, Karen) of Anderson, IN; and daughter Heather Larson (husband, Mike) Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren Carrie Cooper (husband, Joey); Molly Bergman (husband, Brian); Devon Larson, Ava Larson, Aaron White, Jaami Bailey, and Bryan Bailey; Great-grandchildren Audrey Cooper, Addison Cooper, Ada Cooper, Brooks Bergman, Kylee Lawson, Tyler McDanials, Carder McDanials; foreign exchange granddaughter Anna-Lisa Kofahl; and Niece Rebecca McClintick (husband, Tim) of Pendleton, IN.She was Past president of Psi Iota Xi of Middletown, member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church, past president and past district president of the General Federated Women's Club, a longtime volunteer at St Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital Victoria Guild, Middletown Red Hat Society, and member of Madison County Women's Shrine Club. She was a volunteer at Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky, for many years.She previously worked at Delco-Remy, Farmer's Elevator, State Farm Insurance, and worked in farming for many years. For forty years in December each year, she served as Mrs. Claus for countless children of all ages.She loved to garden, travel, complete crossword puzzles, and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Ballard & Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown on Sunday from 4-7 pm with Psi Iota Xi Memorial Service immediately following.
