Fairmount, IN....Elsie R. Elder, 85, former Middletown resident, passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson on September 2, after a brief illness.She was born in McDougal, Arkansas October 17, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Hazelwood Russell.She was a 1945 graduate of Neelyville MO High School.She lived in Middletown for 53 years before moving to Fairmount.She worked as a child care provider for many years in Middletown.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Marvin in 2001, 2 brothers: Elmer ""Bud"" Russell and Tommy Russell, 1 sister: Ellen Koons.Survivors include her children: Sherrie Wall (Michael) of Corpus Christi, TX, Gail Elder of Sharpsville, Dale Elder (Denise) of Columbus, Sandi Perkins (Bob) of Middletown, and Peggy True (Mike) of Fairmount, 2 sisters: Wilma Riley of Middletown and Mildred Cannell of Atlanta, IN, 1 brother: Inos Russell of Anderson, brother-in-law: Frankie Koons of Middletown, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev.
