Elizabeth "Betsy" King, 78, of Middletown passed away Monday November 29, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born January 20, 1943 in Cincinnati, OH to the late John J. and Helen M. (South) Prichett.
Betsy was a 1960 graduate of Indian Hill High School in Ohio after high school she went onto Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1966 with her RN in nursing. In 1978 Betsy returned to school at St. Mary of the Woods and received a Bachelor of Science degree and then in 1986 she once again returned to school at Ball State to receive her Master of Arts in Health Science. During those years she worked as a nurse for Bethesda Hospital from 1966 to 1967, Visiting Nurse Association in Muncie from 1967 to 1970 and in 1970 Betsy went to work for St. John's Hospital in Anderson where she was a staff nurse in orthopedics for 5 years, Emergency Department nurse for 15 years and her remaining years were spent in the Nursing Administration and retired in 2004.
Betsy enjoyed reading, music, painting and especially quilting making many beautiful quilts.
She is survived by a sister, Deinya (John) Mautz of Jacksonville, FL. and good friends, Jerry and Nancy Pitcock.
In addition to her parents Betsy is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Stewart King Jr. whom she married September 11, 1993.
In lieu of flowers Betsy asked that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Protection League 613 Dewey St. Anderson, IN 46016 or the Middletown EMS 653 Locust St. Middletown, IN 47356.
Graveside services will be Friday December 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown.
