New Castle...Elizabeth Angela (Abshire) Kern, 70, resident of New Castle, passed away September 28, 2017 at the home of her son in Fishers.She was born in Henry County, February 16, 1947, the daughter of Charles Fredrick and Audrey M. Godsell Abshire.She was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and Ball State University and received her Masters of Social Work from IUPUI.She had lived in New Castle since 1992 and attended First Church of the Nazarene and before that the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers.Survivors are her husband of 51 years: Carl Duane Kern of New Castle, sons: Christopher D. (Holly) Kern of Fishers and Jeffery Allen (Beth) Kern of Norwalk, Ohio, daughter: Karla Elizabeth Kern of Ft.
