Kansas City...Elizabeth A. ""Betty"" Delon, 77 died May 17, 2007 in Kansas City, MO.She and her husband Floyd G. Delon celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary May 29, 2006. The number one priority during theses years together has been their family.A graduate of Cadiz High School, Betty became a US Civil Service employee until her retirement. She began her career in the Fort Benjamin Harrison Finance Center in Indianapolis and worked at the VA Hospital and for the Corps of Engineers in Tucson, AZ.She served briefly as a secretary for the Physics department at the University of Missouri but soon returned to government employment as administrative assistant for the Heart Study Program.She became a volunteer for the University Hospital as a ""Gray Lady"" and served one term as president of Fortnighty, a faculty wives club.She had endured over twenty moves due to her husband's job changes, she looked forward to retirement in Columbia, MO.. Two additional moves followed before retiring in Kansas City.Betty, the daughter of Raymond and Beatrix (Akers) Taylor was born February 18, 1930 in Middletown.In addition to her husband, she is survived by 1 daughter: Laura Stephens, grandson: Kellen Stephens and 2 granddaughters: Lacy and Holly Stephens all of Lee's Summit, MO, 2 sisters: Ruth Taylor and Madeline ""Pat"" (Bill Miller of Middletown 1 brother: Bill (Sylvia) Taylor of New Castle.A private graveside service will be conducted at Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer association.Online guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
