April 21, 1935 — May 19, 2018

Edward F Weiss, 83, of Daleville, Indiana, passed away on May 19, 2018 surrounded by his family at his side at Community Hospital in Anderson.

Ed was born in Jacksonburg, Indiana on April 21, 1935.  He graduated from Greensfork High School and married Donna M Weiss (Bryan) on September 17, 1955.  He began his working career farming, milking cows and working in a factory. In the late 1950's, he worked as a mechanic for different Case farm tractor dealerships. He eventually became a salesman, and later store manager at Case Power & Equipment in Marion.

Ed and Donna moved their family to Daleville in 1966 when he became very involved in construction equipment.  Ed & Donna became the co-owners of Dabney & Weiss Equipment, and later became the sole owners of Weiss Machinery.  Thru the years with Ed's leadership, hard work and a keen eye for vision turned the business into the #1 single outlet Dealer for Case Equipment in North America. Later,  locations in Van Wert, OH, Mooresville and Ft. Wayne were added.

In 1990, Ed's passion for construction equipment and golf were incorporated when he designed and developed a golf course community located near Bedford, IN.  Hoosier National Golf Club Inc. was established on 540 acres of some of southern Indiana's most scenic and picturesque landscape.  Ed possessed the unique vision, construction skills & knowledge and a passion for the game of golf to create a beautiful masterpiece which lives on today.  Ed's legacy continues under new ownership on what is now Stone Crest Golf Community in Bedford, IN.

Ed retired in 1997, but didn't remain that way for long. In 2004, he opened Daleville Aggregates, selling sand & gravel. After a few years, the main focus of the business shifted towards Ed's first love, selling construction equipment, which continues on today.
