Edmund N Ochs writer and engineer, 60 Daleville, passed away Sunday May 16 2010. He was born in Indianapolis on February 4 1950 to Robert Ochs and Anna Hedrick. A Muncie Burris graduate who knew no boundaries for human knowledge went on to work as a Clinical Engineer, Health and Safety Director, and Director of the Biomedical Department of Ball Memorial Hospital for 17 years. He worked for many years as a consultant, gave an ALS patient the ability to speak through technology, was a creator of Vigilance, an avid cook, elegant writer, and phenomenal father with a wicked 15 footer and a far from quintessential mind. He is survived by his beloved wife Alicia, his three children Johanna M, Ryan R, and Alyson Ochs, his grandson Jaccob Whiteaker, and his daughter-in-law Sarah. A beautiful soul and creative genius of grace and humility who reminded us of the power of an individual and the change needed in the world today; he will be greatly missed and never forgotten. A memorial service will be held Thursday May 20th at 5:00 pm for visitation with services at 6:00 pm at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home located at 8212 South Walnut Street Daleville. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the science department of Daleville High School.Online Guestbook at:
