Middletown...Edith Christina Markle, 96, former Markleville resident, passed away at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.She was born in Middletown, June 6, 1912, the daughter of Ross and Sally Hodson Lovett.She was a 1930 graduate of Markleville High School and was a bookkeeper at the Madison County Courthouse for over 20 years.She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Church.She is survived by a daughter: Dianna Pottorff of Markleville, 1 brother: Clayton ""Jeep"" Lovett (JoAnn) of Chesterfield, 3 grandchildren: Amy Blackwell (Brandon), Annisa Conley (Chris) and Kelly Steele (Russ), sister-in-law: Joyce Lovett of Louisiana, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Paul, daughter: Caroline, brothers: Harold, Woodrow, and Jerry Lovett and a sister: Florence Bronnenberg.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. David Mantor and Rev. Larry Green officiating.Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday at Noon until the time of the services.Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Valley Missionary Society or the charity of the donors choice.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
