Muncie...Earl Moreland, 81, resident of the Muncie area, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson, after an extended illness.He was born in Delaware County, November 22, 1921, the son of Harry V. and Alta M. Smith Moreland.Earl attended Daleville Schools and had worked in the former Middletown Canning Company years ago. He was an electrician and plumber and had also owned and operated the Chattbox Resturant in Middletown from 1955 to 1964 with his wife Wauneta and the late Annabelle Hanson.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge #174 and the Redmen Tribe #2 of Anderson.He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Wauneta (Berry) Moreland, whom he married December 3, 1942 at Crossroads Lutheran Parsonage.Also cousins: Carl Moreland of Middletown and Harold Moreland of Anderson, brother-in-law: Wayne Berry of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.Special friends: James M. Johnson and wife Karen of Muncie, Mary and David Howell of rural Middletown and Adam, Aaron, Amanda, and Audrey Howell.He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
