Earl Wayne Evans

Daleville...Earl Wayne Evans, 73, resident of Daleville passed away at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital on Sunday. He was born in Jay County, Indiana September 26, 1947 the son of Wilson Leroy and Elsie Elizabeth Scholer Evans.
He received his skilled trades apprenticeship from General Motors and retired in 1996 as a tool maker.
He was a US Army veteran. He attended Tabor Church and had been self employed as a contractor. He was a Historical Interpreter and gun maker. He worked for many years att Conner Prairie.
He was our hero. He was there for us day and night and was the strongest, most giving man the family had ever known.
He loved his God and was part of the original Promise Keepers Program in the area. He struggled with PTSD as a result from the Vietnam war. He met the Lord and his life was forever changed. "It isn't me, it's God"
Aside from spending time with his family, he was a very passionate person concerning history. He loved sharing at Conner Prairie and travelling and participating in reenactments with the 1812 White River Guard.
He always had a project going. He will always be remembered for the love and devotion to his dear wife, Tami. He spent every single day caring and loving her and their children and his love for God.
WE are so grateful for the stories told during the precious time we had with him.
Survivors are his wife, Tambra Reff Evans, 2 children, Linley Mosier (Dean) of Fishers and Aaron Evans (Lori) of Greenfield, siblings, Rose Ullom (Fred) of Chesterfield, Faye Williamson (Darrel) of Berne, IN, Kay Beck (Roger) of Berne, IN, and Gary Evans (Eileen) of Sarasota, FL, 1 grandchild, Rowen Evans.
A private graveside will be held at Miller Cemetery with Pastor Jim Sandburg officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Tabor Church or the Daleville Community Church of the Nazarene.
