Dwanna "Dee" Shannon
February 18, 1938 — February 20, 2022
Dwanna (Dee) Miller Shannon, 84, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on February 20 2022, with her children and best friend Pat at her side at Ascension Health Hospital (formerly St. John's) in Anderson.
Dwanna was born on February 18, 1928, in Welch, WV.
Dee enjoyed playing cards, board games, cooking and listening to country music. She formerly worked at Homestead (Harvest) Market in Middletown,
later at Middletown Nursing, and then worked for many years to retire from Guide Lamp. Dee was a member of Middletown Church of God and Madison Park Church of God.
Survivors include her two children, Rhonda Michelle McIntyre and James "Jay" Shannon and his wife, Michelle "Shelby". Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Matthew, Chase (Jenny) and Jacob McIntyre, and Tyler and Erin Shannon; great-grandsons,
Cameron and Carson McIntyre; several cousins; and long-time friends, Pat and Larry Bailey.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 27, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Middletown Chapel, at 3 p.m., with Charles Sandlin officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be held at a later date.
