Middletown....Doyle A. Barnes, 71, resident of Middletown, died Saturday evening at Community Hospital in Anderson, after an extended illness.He was born in Lilbourn, Missouri, August 9, 1931, the son of Clare and Stella Stanfield Barnes. He moved to Middletown in 1966 and had retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1980 after 30 years of service.He was an active member of the Middletown Church of God, the Middletown Lions Club, and was a talented wood carver. He was an Anderson High School graduate and a veteran of the US Air Force and National Guard.Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Dee (Knotts) Barnes of Middletown, 1 daughter: Debbie (Kevin) Harry of Middletown, Grandchildren: Caroline Harry of West Palm Beach, FL and Amanda Harry of Anderson, 2 brothers: Earl Barnes of Decatur and Frank Barnes of Windfall, 1 sister: Emily Bergstrom of Livonia, MI, special friend: Bruce Duncan of Anderson, several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN with Rev.
