Middletown...Dortha May (Shaffer) Ackenback, 94, resident of Crossroads, Indiana, passed away Tuesday evening at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.She was born in Farmland, May 1, 1912, the daughter of George Wayne and Ora Pearl Shaffer.She was a very dedicated and active member of the Crossroads Lutheran Church for over 60 years before it disbanded.Survivors include 2 daughters: Eldora (Bill) Leathers and Eleanor Raper of Middletown, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grand daughter, 1 sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews, 1 foster daughter: Sandy (Donnie) Irwin of Muncie.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Marvin, 4 brothers, and 1 sister and a son in law.Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with REv.
