Middletown...Dorothy R. (Ayres) Murray, 92, former resident of Springport, passed away Friday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.She was born in Adams County, Indiana, October 1, 1912, the daughter of Roy and Lilly Ostella Biery Ayres.She had taught Home Economics for many years at schools in Royal Center, Bluffton, and Mishawaka.She was a 1929 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a 1933 graduate of Ball State Teachers College. She was a member of the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ and Alpha Sigma Tau sorority.She was receded in death by her husband: James in 1982 and brothers: Oscar, Rufus, Alfred, Charles and Frank Ayres, 2 children Charles Roy in 1950 and David in 1996.Survivors include six children: Marcia Hole of McPherson, KS, Linda (Francis) Solms of Upland,IN, Rebecca Murray (Husband; Joe Paridise) of Newport OR, Cathy Lincoln of Warren, IN, James W. Murray of Twin Bridges, MT and Richard (Didi) Murray of Merom, IN, 11 grand children, 3 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren, sisters in laws: Julia Payne of Muncie and Helen Ayres of Middletown, cousins and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ in Sulphur Springs with Pastor James Behrendt officiating.Burial will follow in Miller cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ.Online Guestbook is available at:
