Daleville...Dorothy Jean Edwards, resident of Daleville, died Tuesday evening at her residence after a brief illness.She was born in Indianapolis, April 16, 1923, the daughter of Gross and Annie (Ooley) Arthur.She had lived in Daleville for 26 years and was a former resident of Tipton and Spencer, IN.She was a homemaker most of her life and was a graduate of Freedom High School in 1941 and Indiana University in 1955. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority of Muncie, Daleville Christian Church, Daleville Christian Church Fellowship, and Daleville Womans Club. She was a charter member of the Daleville Community Library Board.Survivors include her husband: Charles Edwards of Daleville, 1 son: Brook Edwards (Fiancee"":Judy Walker), of Tipton, 1 daughter: Lisa Jill (Tom) Haller of Indianapolis, 1 sister: Olive Ann Johnson of Plainfield, IN, 1 granddaughter: Abby Haller of Indianapolis and 3 nieces.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Daleville Christian Church with Gary McManus officiating.Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Indiana at 1:00 PMFriends may call at the Daleville Christian Church on Thursday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Daleville Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.Services have been entrusted to the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut, Daleville.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
