Dorothy Dickey Bruce

Middletown...Dorothy Dickey Bruce, 92, resident of Middletown, passed away Thursday morning at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.She was born in Champaign, Ill, April 27, 1915 the daughter of Charles A. and Katherine Keas Dickey.She was appointed Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Middletown and served from 1969 to 1979.She was elected a member of the Town Council from 1984 to 1987 and again from 1992 until 1994.She lived in Middletown for over 50 years and was a member of the Sixth Street Christian Church, Fall Creek historical Society and was Precinct committeeman.She was preceded in death by her husband: Harl and a son: Harl, Jr.Survivors include a niece: Mildred Myers of Pendleton, daughter-in-law: Rosa Bruce of Anderson, 3 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Maynard Powell officiating.Burial will follow in Miller cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of the services.Memorial contributions may be made to the Sixth Street Christian Church.
