Doris "June" Cole

Doris June Cole, 84 of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Carl and Dorothy (England) Gibbons.

June started school in Kentucky, she then moved to Kennard. In her early years, she moved to Cadiz to live with her aunt and uncle, Clarence and Ruby Grissom who loved her very much. June loved her family, everyone always felt welcome in her home. She enjoyed watching family during their sporting events and was an avid Pacer fan. Everyone loved her fried chicken; she would cook for anyone at any time. June loved racing, fishing, playing cards and bingo in her spare time. She enjoyed going to antique stores and flea markets. One of her favorite things to do was to go mud bogging. She was a member of the Middletown American Legion Woman Auxiliary and the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Jack Cole; aunt and uncle, Clarence and Ruby Grissom; sisters, Carolyn Coulter and Linda Crane; brother, J.S. McDaniel, Carly Gibbons.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana Ewing and Jackie (Dewayne) Liebrandt; sons, Mickey (Darlene) Cole and Shane (Ashley) Cole; grandkids, April Robbins, Amber Kostoff, Danny Liebrandt, Stephanie Leraas, Micheal Cole, Autumn Cole, Dawson Cole, Ava Cole, Zachary Gibbons, Gracie Hanlon, Makayla Clark, Mykah Pruett and Xavier Pruett; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Sturtzel; brother, Vernon McDaniel and special friend, Bill Figel; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Dillan Ketcham officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 5635 West 96th Street, #100 Indianapolis, IN 46278. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
