Doris Jean Brummett

Middletown...Doris Jean Brummett, 71, former Honey Creek resident, passed away Monday morning at I.U. Health/Ball Memorial Hospital.She was born in Honey Creek, Indiana, June 21, 1940, the daughter of Chester A. and Norma Apple Spell.She was a 1958 graduate of Middletown High School.She had attended the Honey Creek United Methodist Church and lived in Richmond for several years.Survivors are her children: Roy and David Brummett of Middletown, James Ray Brummett of Elkhart and Sandy Brummett of Middletown, 2 sisters: Mary Smith of Marion and Donna Matthews of Middletown,one brother: Don Spell of Mooreland, several grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter: Debbie Vitatoe and one son: Don.Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Eric Boling officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Henry County Mental Health Association.The Ballard family is honored to serve the Brummett's in family ministry.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
