New Castle...Doris L. (Harter) Beavers, 96, resident of New Castle, passed away June 18, 2005 at The Waters Nursing Care in New Castle.She was born in Jefferson Township, September 15, 1908, the daughter of George F. and Dora Cory Harter.She was a 1926 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and was a homemaker most of her life.She was preceded in death by her husband Millard H. Beavers, Sr. in 1993, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 son: John R. Beavers in 2004 as well as a grandson: Tom.She had lived in the New Castle/Kennard and Sulphur Springs area since 1947. She was a member of the Bridge Club and Home Economics Club and the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ. She worked with the Lions Club of Kennard and belonged to a camping club. She loved Knitting, quilting and crocheting.Survivors are 2 sons: Millard H. Beavers Jr, (Nancy M.) of New Castle and Donald L. Beavers (Rita M.) of Spiceland, 1 daughter: Sharon Thomas (Martin) of Cadiz, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, 1 sister: Bulah Garrett of Sulphur Springs, 1 sister-in-law: Carol Harter of Mooreland and daughter -in-law: Norma L. Beavers of Kennard and a special friend: Clara Sweigart.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN with Pastor James Behrendt, Lou Herchenroeder, and Joe BEavers officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to the Sulphur Springs United Church of Christ.Online Guestbook is available at:
